Katie is an Iowa City native and graduate of La’ James Cosmetology School. She spent 14 years at Michael Tschantz Salon where she built a loyal client base. Katie specializes in color, highlights, and cutting women’s hair of all lengths and textures.

At an early age, Katie was drawn to art and brings this passion for creativity to Nova Salon. She loves using her skills to boost her client’s self confidence. She celebrated 20 years in the industry, spring of 2023.

Outside of the salon, Katie enjoys cooking, gardening, and transforming her backyard into a place to entertain her family and friends. She frequents New York City to visit her sister’s family, but loves any and all chances to travel. She has a beloved dog, Marlow.

Katie’s must have product is UNITE TEXTURIZA spray. This dry finishing spray gives a rough texture to hair while acting as a light hairspray. It can also be used to refresh day old hair, acting as three products in one!
